In 1982 John Carpenter gave us the in your face, special effects laden The Thing. In 2011 we received what most thought was a reboot or remake. The joke was on all of us. Watch both films back to back and the puzzle comes together. The trick is watching them in just the wrong order. When you watch the 2011 version, sit a few minutes into the credits.
